We are pleased to invite you to attend the „Alpine Anatomical Research Conference“ to be held in Obergurgl (Tyrol, Austria) on 5th to 8th of April 2020. We are planning an expert meeting on novel developments in the morphological sciences covering all aspects of Anatomy and Histology including Functional Anatomy, Neurobiology and Developmental Biology. The study of the morphological basis of cellular and organ function remains a subject of tremendous fascination in the life sciences and a key to better understanding of human physiology in health and in disease.
This conference will provide a meeting point for the top experts, mid-career scientists, post-docs and students in the various fields of human and animal morphology. The following keynote speakers have accepted our invitation: Valentin Nägerl (Université de Bordeaux) will present novel developments in the field of super-resolution confocal microscopy, Beate Brand-Saberi (University Bochum) reports on recent advances in Molecular Embryology and Gabriele Rune (University of Hamburg) will discuss the neuronal effects of sex hormones with particular reference to the differences between the male and female brain.
We particularly like to encourage young scientists to present their projects and to use the ample opportunities for informal discussions with colleagues and faculty in a relaxed and stimulating environment. To help achieving this, every participant is welcome to deliver a short talk (15-20 minutes incl. discussion, depending on the number of applications) or a poster (A0-size, preferably portrait), which will be on display throughout the conference.
The Congress fee of appr. 500€ covers registration and 3 nights (double occupancy, reduction for students) at the beautiful University Center Obergurgl including breakfast and dinner (as well as wellness facilities). At this time of the year we may expect perfect conditions for skiing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoe and Nordic walking. It is possible to prolong your stay if you wish to combine the scientific meeting with your holidays.
With kind regards,
Erich Brenner, Stefan Britsch, Christoph Viebahn and Lars Klimaschewski
